The Sleeper Amulet

Hello Everyone!

This time you will not need to wrack your brains and puzzle over cryptic riddles. No, this time your creativity and artistic talent will win the day. JoWooD, Spellbound and WoG are looking for the best design for the Sleeper Amulet. The following picture of the Sleeper Amulet from the Gothic 3 Special Edition could serve as one source of inspiration:

Other possible references can be found in the list of links below. Check out the pictures to see what the rough guideline for the design is. Your design can of course differ from the previous ones but should reflect the artistic style and the craftsmanship in the Gothic universe. It might be interesting to make small additions which are in line with the Gothic universe such as integrating gems or precious stones into the design (based on gem-adorned objects featured in Gothic 2).

How can you join the contest? Simple: This time we are looking for quality, not speed. You have to submit your design until the 17th August 2008 in the form of a digital picture. It needs to be in the JPEG format (black and white or in color) with a size of at least 512x512 Pixels. How you create the digital image is up to you. You could draw, paint or render it for example. Every picture that arrives in time will be included in the contest. Of course each person can only submit one artwork.

Please use the World of Players Upload Script for uploading your work. You can find the upload form here:

Post the link to your picture in the following thread:

All submitted artworks will be part of a vote that the whole community can take part in. The details of the voting will be announced on the 17th August 2008. It will be a worldwide contest that will take place in the WoG-Forum. So you will not only be able to compete with people from your own country but with Gothic-Fans from all over the world. The most popular designs of the competition will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprised of officials from JoWooD and Spellbound as well as WoG who will then crown the worldwide winner of the contest. The panel will consider the aesthetics of the design, the consistency with the Gothic Universe and, of course, the creativeness.

What can you win? What do you go to all this trouble for? For one, you could come out on top in the forum voting. The winner will be given a sponsored extra reward. Whats more, the design that is chosen by the panel of judges will receive a very special prize. The design will be modeled, textured and will appear in Gothic 4. On top of that, the winner will be invited to the showing of Gothic 4 Arcania at the Games Convention in Leipzig as a special guest. His/her artwork will also be presented to the press. Of course the winner will have a place of honor in the in-game credits of Gothic 4. Fame and glory await: So get going and let your creativity run free! Good luck and have fun!

(The time and place of the announcement of the winner will be made public in the forum. JoWooD and Spellbound employees as well as members of the WoG team cannot join the contest.)
